How to recycle or trash electronics

Being a professional organizer, I support getting rid of things. I believe the less stuff one has the better. In this day and age of consumerism, we especially need to tread carefully when it comes to acquiring more stuff. Therefore a good rule of thumb is to not purchase that new television until you have disposed of the old broken one. Sometimes, the act of diposal is diffucult when youn don't know how to properlly dispose of it or you are too busy. I love to solve simple problems such as these. Below I have provided two web links that give good information on how to dispose of electronics:

Friday's Deal Mail

(8/20/04)We're back! What's the best killer deal this week, you ask? I had a hard time deciding. I finally settled on the double set of Calphalon pans at 71% off. These are the limited edition nonstick 8" & 10" combo that are exactly like what we got from Williams-Sonoma for our wedding nearly six years ago and they are still great. The difference? These are a whopping 95 bucks off of what they were then!

The second deal is also an absolutely killer deal. By now just about everyone knows what Tivo is, right. You're all just watching the olympics, dying for an instant replay on something, and killing yourself when they don't play it. Tivo's used to be really expensive, but there are some incredible deals on Amazon right now on them. Check out the 40 hour model (*plenty* of time for most people, really) for 89 bucks after rebate. An absolutely stellar deal.

So, many of you may not know, but Amazon just launched a new music store catering to musicians and sound professionals. There's tons of great stuff to find there and I thought I would feature a few here. First, if you have a guitar that is sorely in need of a stand so that you can leave it out and you'll actually remember to play it every once in a while, you can hardly beat the deal today only from Musician's Friend. They are selling a guitar holder for $4.50 only on Amazon today.

Given all the craziness with the hurricane last weekend, perhaps some of your are thinking it would be a good time to invest in a little emergency radio to have in case you need it. If so, there is a sale on one of the most popular models Amazon sells, by Grundig, for 20% off, today only. Nice thing about this one is that it works even if you run out of batteries since you can hand crank it. Great to have around in case of an emergency and really well priced.
